  2. Rosso's Judgement: NOT GUILTY In a surprising turn of events, Vice Governor Tanzidur Hernandez has been found not guilty of tax evasion in a verdict issued by Judge Sam Rosso of the First Judicial Court. The case against Hernandez arose after he was caught breaking through a toll booth without paying the required fee. Hernandez argued that he lost control of his bike and passed through the booth to avoid a collision and potential injury to himself and others. Federal prosecutor Athena Carter argued that Hernandez's defense was insufficient. However, the judge ruled that Hernandez's actions were justified in light of the potential risks to his and others' safety and ordered him to pay the unpaid toll fee. The judge further added that the bike could have been examined properly by the prosecutor to confirm if the defendant was telling the truth. Overall, the verdict in this case highlights the importance of proper investigation and presentation of evidence in court proceedings. It also serves as a reminder that individuals are not automatically guilty of a crime simply because they are charged with it, and that the legal system is designed to protect the rights of the accused. This unexpected outcome has sparked outrage among some members of the community, who argue that Hernandez should be held accountable for his actions and pay the full toll fee as required by law. Others, however, are praising the judge's decision as a fair and balanced ruling that takes into account the unique circumstances of the case. These actions were followed by an appeal by the Federal Prosecutor Winter Manyak against Sam Rosso's ruling. It is yet to be seen what the outcome of the appeal is. What are your views on Rosso's judgement? Comment and let us know: Name: Comment:
  3. The Flying Governor Vice Governor Tanzidur Hernandez was caught on dash cam evading tolls on 29th of November. The incident occurred when the governor jumped over the toll booth in order to avoid paying the toll. The officers on duty witnessed the governor's actions and tried to stop him, but he continued to accelerate without stopping. The officers were able to capture the incident on their dash cam, and the footage was later used as evidence in court. Prosecutor Athena Carter subsequently filed a lawsuit against Governor Hernandez, alleging that his actions were intentional and not the result of a panicked loss of control. However, Governor Hernandez claims that he panicked and lost control of his bike, which led to him jumping over the toll booth by mistake. Despite this claim, the dash cam footage clearly shows the governor accelerating towards the toll booth and jumping over it without any signs of losing control. The case is ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether Governor Hernandez will be found guilty of evading tolls.
  4. Another Rogue Fire Chief On Monday, December 12th, Unrest ensued at the Los Santos Fire Department with the mass resignation of FD members. The firing of a protest leader was met with outrage from the rest of the department, with over 90% of the members filing a mass resignation in protest. Turns out all the protesters requested was better working conditions and equipment, and promotions to the deserving candidates. It has been noticed by the public that the Fire Chief Hannah Hoover was absent from her chair after being put in the position. The previous fire chief, Roberto Makaveli had been removed and deported to Morocco for attempting to sabotage the department, and the current chief's actions have been seen as a continuation of this behavior. Members of the department demanded that the Congress act and investigate the matters surrounding chief Hannah. In response to the questions regarding firing of the protest leader, Hoover threatened to wipe all patient records from the fire department website. This threat was met with even more backlash, and she was subsequently removed from her position. The protest leader has since been reinstated, and the old fire commissioner Gregory has been reinstated as the FD deputy chief. All this to the courtesy of IA head, Athena, who stood with the workers with their protest and helped create diplomatic negotiations, however all this was unappreciated by now Ex. chief, the result of which lead to her downfall, and acted as a last nail in the coffin. The events of the past few days have highlighted the need for better leadership and accountability within the Fire Department. It was the dark day for FD and it was unclear how the department will move forward, but the members are determined to fight for the changes they believe are necessary to serve the community effectively.
