ELECTION BREAKDOWN: WHAT'S AT STAKE?

After another governor impeached, a turbulent race is expected as uncertainty prevails in San Andreas

Jester Dupont - BT Editor | ELECTION BREAKDOWN: WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Once again, a governor was impeached in the State of San Andreas - Richie Kavanagh has met the end of his short tenure [which lasted less than 1/3 of his total term] after being charged with possession of concealed assault rifles, in a situation which concerned SAPD officers escalated to the point warranting the presence of SWAT operatives and federal agents.

Something that's thought to be an abnormality has officially became part of the state's political agenda through the year, with multiple office holders finding themselves challenged by the US Congress, in light of criminal charges and public office misconducts. The biggest losers in this recurrent tragicomedy plot are the citizens of San Andreas, now used to see their elected representative come and go with the blink of an eye, failing to uphold good public practices and in some cases, even laws.

In the 5th electoral cycle of the year, Buzz Times will follow all candidates and provide our readers with the relevant information to make an informed decision for their choice as governor. In the upcoming days, we will be preparing special material consisting of each candidate's profile, interviews, the priorities of the State of San Andreas, statistics and much more.

With two months to the year end, the elected Governor who vows to conclude his term without any scandals will be the one to lead his State through the new year. The new elect will need to hit the ground running and tackle urgent issues such as surge of criminality in San Andreas, terrorist cells in Bone County, increasing demand for commodities and a general lack of trust in the government due to successive impeachments.

Currently, we have three candidates: Ted Woods, a known figure of San Andreas' electorate who is once again running for office. He was the last election's runner-up earning 44% of public vote in a tight dispute against now ex-Governor Richie Kavanagh. Hilly Flores, a political outsider, promises to run with a conservative base, appealing to an unheard parcel of the people. Declan Kavanagh is the candidate for the Fianna Fail party, last election's winner and owning a considerable electoral spoil but now under tight scrutiny as their front man was recently ousted from office.

Stick with the Times - we got a long way till November 8th.
