The two Ammu-Nations are possibly the most popular in the state of San Andreas. In a recent statement by Pete3Ammunations management, the cause given for the decision has been the increased crime rate within Los Santos. The closure of the Ammu-Nations has faced a lot of backlash with some saying the decision is complete nonsense. The lack of support provided by Pete3Ammunations for their claims is causing many to wonder if this is another blunder of the state government for failing to control crime within Los Santos or if there is an ulterior motive. However, is it the place of Ammu-Nation owners to make such decisions and deprive lawful citizens of their constitutional rights? Kavanagh had filed for a reinstatement to re-join the San Andreas police force but was denied due to a failed background check. As one of the only governors to successfully complete a full term with no criminal record, many believe he is being targeted due to his political beliefs with some saying it is because of his Irish heritage, although there is currently no evidence to support these claims. The most reliving milestone of Kavanagh's government and for San Andreas is his success in completing a full term in office as oppose to his predecessors, where impeachments and scandals had become a norm. Majority of Kavanagh's reign revolved around infrastructure development around San Andreas such as the Idlewood Projects flats, renovating the interior of the Los Santos City Hall and All Saints General Hospital, just to name a few. KAVANAGH TAKES U-TURN FOLLOWING IMPEACHMENT THREAT Liam Reeds - BT Editor | KAVANAGH TAKES U-TURN FOLLOWING IMPEACHMENT THREAT What a chaotic week this has been with Governor Kavanagh encountering another storm as he strives to keep his reign going. Chief of EMS Marco Lloyd has taken on the state government following a cut in funding to the EMS department of the SAFMD by the governor. The governor's decision faced huge backlash from SAFMD employees as well as members of the public. According to the governor, an assessment was being done by the state government on pay checks issued to employees of the EMS department within the SAFMD in a joint effort with Chief Lloyd. However, according to Chief Lloyd, this is not true as he did not agree to a reduction in funding which as a consequent would lead to a reduced pay check for the Chief of EMS. Following the cut in funding, Chief Lloyd and Governor Kavanagh have been at each other's throats which has turned into a very public feud. The governor recently cut Chief Lloyd's pay check by approximately 900% after his initial reduction under the claim that Chief Lloyd had gone against the government. This decision faced huge criticism from the public and members of the SAFMD. After an internal disagreement where as per the governor, Chief Lloyd accused him of selling heroin, the duo continued their bickering in public. Chief Lloyd went on to accuse the governor of being a liar and threatened him with impeachment saying, "I didn't want to do this Mr. Governor, but you forced my hand... prepare for your impeachment." In a statement by the governor, he told the Buzz Times that his actions regarding the SAFMD were discussed with Chief Lloyd but "as children do, they change their minds and then cry." Only time will tell whether we've seen the last of this drama with the SAFMD making the headlines in yet again another scandal with the state government. Although, there has been a sudden shift in the mood of the state government. On 1st December, the governor announced that the government will be increasing the budget of all government organisations including the SAFMD, restoring the previous cut in funding. It is yet unclear what exactly has caused this sudden U-turn by the governor, one theory is that the threat by Chief Lloyd, a highly ranked government official has prompted the governor to change his mind to dissolve any potential threat to his position. November 10th: Buzz Times coverage This is a brief post to explain how coverage in November 10th will unfold. With the polls closing at midnight November 10th, Buzz Times will be making region calls throughout the entire day, based in mathematical projections, to determine the projected winner for each. Since the final number of votes to come from each region is still unknown and will remain unknown, they could suggest, but not pinpoint trends in the electoral race. This is how our calls will look: We expect to be making these calls hourly, in a way to keep the people of San Andreas updated in the current state of the elections, but the real winner will only be known in November 11th, in the actual inauguration, since the final number of votes for each region could be meaningless, while for some it might be much more meaningful. San Andreas does not works with an electoral college. What matters is the total number of votes. OPINION EDITORIAL: CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENT Buzz Times Editorial Board | EDITORIAL: CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENT This is the fifth governor election we're going through in this state only in 2020. An atypical year due to the hinderance caused by the coronavirus along with the inability of preceding elected governors to complete their terms. With voting to begin tonight at midnight, the hope is that the next governor elect will not repeat the mistakes of his predecessors displaying incompetence, unable to meet the needs of the state and make the headlines for episodes of blatant abuse of power and other criminal acts. We now stand before two candidates, each at their own mode, promising to deliver us better days and hopefully free of political scandals. They're our only hope to end this year in peace given the fact this election will run in the second week of November, the term of the next governor will end in 2021. Buzz Times has interviewed these candidates in-depth, looking to have meaningful answers from them. They have ranged from entrepreneurship offers, better care of our brave police officers, housing opportunities and more. However, in an unanimous decision of our Editorial Board, we have decided that neither of the candidates particularly deserve endorsement. This decision has motivated much because of the answers provided in relation to the issue that mostly worries our people at this moment, the growth of armed militias who threaten our sovereignty. One of the candidates responded that while the causes of one group are valid, the other isn't, despite the rumours they're now allied and act fundamentally identical in terms of their pursuit for guerrilla warfare against this country, applying his own bias to this very serious issue. Another has undermined the threat these militias have proved to be, rendering them only as people who are "ready to defend their land" as if their claims were anyhow legitimate. Is that suggestive of the candidate's thought on these groups? As an outspoken patriotic news outlet, Buzz Times fully supports the Congress of the United States in it's decision to wage war against the rebels and hopes for a swift, quick response that puts an end to their unfounded claims. We will not be divided and we shall unite as one country, one state, and celebrate our differences in appropriate ways. The organisation behind this republic seems to have a different motive than previous freedom movements. We must find a solution to this ongoing violence and all parties shall have to compromise. Considering rampant crime rates in the state, do you have any ideas or plans for the SAPD, SASD, and law enforcing in general? The discussion that I've recently had with Lieutenant Parth Hernandez, Chief of Police Stock Smith & Commander Lincoln Stallone, we've briefly went to some of their main concerns they've had to deal with in regards to their respective departments. Our first priority is to increase the academy's funding as well as re-implement a system that was used in the Finney's Administration in regarding a reward for those that are promoted. We'll be providing more funds and weaponry as a whole to the Police Department and its respective divisions to ensure the safety of our public officers and first responders..- to ensure that San Andreas is secured as a whole state from anyone who wishes to play god and attempts to break our constitution. Our concern is also to fix the bridge between law enforcement agencies, specifically between San Andreas Police Department and San Andreas Sheriff's Department. Militias sieging our people in the counties, and dangerously approaching our cities. Do you believe they fight for legit causes, or they're terrorists? The militias are a group of private citizens who train for military duty in order to be ready to defend their land in times of emergencies. They believe that it's a must because there is lack of law enforcement agencies that support their cause. They believe that the only way to make their point across is by using force. Once I'm elected as governor, handling this crisis is a top priority for the state. It's a must that any sort of militias are aware that we are always here to help and that using force should never be an option. I will personally attempt in making a peace treaty between the state and these types of groups to ensure the safety of our citizens. How do you intend to handle taxes, businesses and housing issues? We plan to lower the taxes when it comes to businesses and properties as a whole. We plan to fund and assist our local businesses as we need to depend on ourselves, rather than importations. What is your stance in the following matters: 1) drugs; 2) abortion and 3) minorities? Race and ethnicity in San Andreas is a very complex topic since our state has a racially and ethnically diverse population. Minorities should be treated equally in San Andreas. I believe there is no huge and problematic racial inequality in San Andreas at this moment. Nevertheless, I recognize the ongoing violence and excessive police interference in neighbourhoods such as Idlewood and Ganton. I am always looking into further legal ventures. What does Hilly Flores proposes to make San Andreas a better place to live? I am going to reduce vehicle fraud, and I will revamp the legal punishment systems and also reduce gang crime in the GS9 area. I have already made plans on how we can do this. Considering rampant crime rates in the state, do you have any ideas or plans for the SAPD, SASD, and law enforcing in general? We will bring a new arsenal to all police officers. We will provide officers with more less than lethal equipment and we will bring a higher level of enforcement officers in the ELS [East Los Santos] area. Militias sieging our people in the counties, and dangerously approaching our cities. Do you believe they fight for legit causes, or they're terrorists? We will negotiate in a friendly manner with these militia groups. They have their own system of passports and driving rules. We will allow them to govern there own areas as long as no drastic action is performed by these groups, or there population is harmed. Should anything go wrong, we will not hesitate to bring in the military of San Andreas. Should a person tresspass into their territory without a passport, we will expect them to be deported back to Los Santos without charge. How do you intend to handle taxes, businesses and housing issues? We will keep everything to do with taxing the same. However we will look at current businesses and establish is the [sic] current manager operating the business in an efficient manner. What is your stance in the following matters: 1) drugs; 2) abortion and 3) minorities? It is important that the dangerous drugs are kept off the streets. However the charges for possession are too high. We will bring alternatives to jail in the system for lesser dangerous crimes such as drug possession.
