FORT CARSON MUNICIPALITY

Mayoral Election


 

 

Fort Carson Municipality benefits of their own electoral system, which allows the residents of Fort Carson to appoint a Mayor who will take administrative decisions and represent the municipality. The Mayor of Fort Carson is the elected government official for the Fort Carson Municipality and has executive control over its territory and is supervised by the Governor of San Andreas.

 

The Mayor of Fort Carson Municipality has the rights to:

- Make amendments and adopt new laws in accordance with the constitution, federal law, and state law on the territory of Fort Carson Municipality;

- Bear executive control of the Municipality and all its territories;

- Allocate funds from the State Government between businesses and various projects to enrich the quality of life;

- Ensure that all departments listed under the Municipality are working in full effect;

 

The duration of the mayoral term is 6 (six) months.

 


 

Requirements for candidature:
- Be at least 21 years old;
- Possess a legitimate passport and driving license;
- Be a resident of Fort Carson Municipality;
- Must not be found guilty of misdemeanor or felonious crimes during the electoral campaign;
- Perform at least two campaign events and participate in the mayoral candidate debate;
- Has not already held two terms as the Mayor of Fort Carson Municipality.

Requirements for voting:
- Possess a legitimate passport;
- Be a resident of Fort Carson Municipality.

 

Electoral fraud will result in the immediate disqualification of the fraudulent candidate.
Electoral fraud includes deliberate manipulation of election outcomes by:
- Voter intimidation (Violence or threat of violence, attacks on polling places, legal threats);
- Disinformation (Distributing false or misleading information in order to affect the outcome of the election);
- Vote buying (Monetary, necessary goods or services exchange);
- Tampering with electronic voting systems.

 



The election process consists of four steps:

  • From 21.06.2022 to 23.06.2022, the Government is accepting candidature application from the residents of Fort Carson Municipality;
  • Starting with 24.06.2022 until 01.07.2022 the candidates must conduct two electoral campaigns and participate in the mayoral candidate debate (Evidence of the campaign events must be provided via discord to Woth#6093);
  • Booths will be open for votes on 02.07.2022 until 03.07.2022;
  • The inauguration will be held on 04.07.2022.

 

The mayoral candidate debate will be hosted by the State Government. All candidates are obliged to participate in the event, where they will be given the chance to debate the topics of their choice with their opposition. Location and time will be announced in the following days.

 

If there are no candidates applying or none of the candidates meet the requirements or all of the candidates get disqualified, the Fort Carson Municipality will be under direct control of the State Government. While the State Government is in direct control, the municipal laws are declared inactive. After 1 (one) month, a new mayoral election will be held.
