San Andreas Sheriff's Department
"A Tradition of Service"



The San Andreas Sheriff's Department is a law enforcement faction that focuses on providing enjoyable and realistic police role play. The faction is primarily based upon and draws inspiration from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The San Andreas Sheriff Department holds strong objectives that we stand by on a daily basis, while serving the State of San Andreas.
Our first objective, and most overall objective, is to serve the State of San Andreas with the most professional, respectful, excellence, and honest Deputies that will be serving the people of the State of San Andreas. As the San Andreas Sheriff's Department represents the whole State of San Andreas as a whole, it is our duty to also serve the citizens of San Andreas with the highest due regard, and to give the State the fundamental police force that they can rely on, no matter the call of service, and trust those that come to serve for that call of service.

The San Andreas Sheriff's Department is one of the most venerated law-enforcement agencies within the US, with a long-winded history of operating out within the constraints of the San Andreas State providing out serves entailed down conducting out several patrolling-operations onto a mannerism that's drawn over to Uniform Patrol throughout its deputy chiefs who're mostly comprised out of Rank and file offices serving out as a detention center and aiding out the law-enforcement(s) of SA within the vicinity of the Bone County, Red County, and the Countryside in general.
 

The Sheriff's Department was founded in 1850 due to the fact that the US throughout the frontier era had been failing out to garner the slightest gist of any present Organized Law-enforcement agency within its own volition. The SAS or as dubbed out during the time San Andreas rangers was a voluntary peace-enforcement agency that's yet to evolve and regardless of the time it was undergoing a transitory phase to be subsumed and undertaking the proceeding to be what's called as of now the San Andreas Sheriff Department
 

Despite the aforementioned statements, the Sheriff's office had also been ailing out from severe predicaments especially during modern-times due to intra-department issues that'd warranted over for the department to be rendered out as semi-defunct due to internal struggles therein the department that'd been positing down as a perpetual source formulating out unwarranted unrest which had led out for the Federal government to issue out a decree that'd forced over the current Departmental executive Staff to abruptly resign out of their statures and delegating over the helm of the ship down to Sheriff Esperanza who is currently undertaking the effort to stand up to the local organized-crime within the countryside that'd been left over as unaccountable without anyone postulating down to curb off and quell down the rampant and exuberant trafficking activities that'd been reported over by the locals to the corresponding law enforcement agencies which have been rendered as incessant within throes to gnaw down at whatever ardour which might've been fostered thereof.
 

Esperanza has since been officially sworn in and worked throughout his first month as the Sheriff, reassigning multiple Command Staff, Supervisory Staff, and Deputies - bringing back accountability, trust and training through the Sheriff's Department. Esperanza's focus and goals throughout the first year of his leadership, is to completely re-haul and bring back structure to the Department, allowing it to be a striving agency that it once use to be.
 

As promised in the creation of the San Andreas Sheriff's, it looks to serve with the highest of professionalism, respect, compassion, dedicated service, trust and integrity the State of San Andreas can offer in a Law Enforcement Agency.

The San Andreas Sheriff's will always remain to its core values, in which while enforcing hunting laws, regulations, and the enforcement of the penal code, is here to serve the State of San Andreas, protect civil rights and liberties, and as-well, uphold and protect the Constitution of the State of San Andreas, and the United States of America, in the most professional way possible.

Sheriff Daniel Steele is second Sheriff to assume leadership of the San Andreas Sheriff's Department during the reconstruction period of both agencies. Sheriff Steele is a well respected and highly decorated officer that boasts 32 years on the force. On the 1 of August 2022, after Sheriff Alejandro Esperanza's untimely resignation. Deputy Bonus I, Daniel 'Huck' Steele was voted into the position of Sheriff of the San Andreas State locally stationed at the West-Vinewood also known as Dillimore Station. Sheriff Steele boasts a wide variety of expertise having studied Criminal justice, serving as a court appointed officer.
 

Subsequently, he joined the San Andreas Police Department in 2018 and ultimately became chief of police in 2019. After resigning he went on to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Agent until his resignation. Sheriff Steele continues to demonstrate strong leadership qualities as he has time and time again lead agencies with a steady hand.

Under-sheriff Aberama Hernandez boasts a wide variety of Law Enforcement expertise. With him being a previous Police III & SWAT Team Leader in SAPD in his previous career, he offers the best kind of Law Enforcement experience. Under-sheriff Hernandez is mainly tasked with the running the San Andreas Sheriff Department's administrative affairs as he has similar authority as the Sheriff. He also assumes the role of Sheriff, should the Sheriff not be able to execute their duties.

Assistant Sheriff Mariana Chesterfield boasts a wide variety of Law Enforcement expertise. With him being a previous Police III in SAPD in his previous career, he offers a neutral yet educated purview of the departments. Assistant Sheriff Chesterfield is mainly tasked with the daily running the San Andreas Sheriff Department as he has similar authority as the Under-sheriff. He also assumes the role of Sheriff, should the Under-sheriff and the Sheriff not be able to execute their duties.

The Sheriff's Division Chief, Edward Harrison is tasked with overseeing the San Andreas Sheriff Department in it’s day to day running. Which includes administrative running of the department. A Division Chief performs work that involves the responsibility for planning, assigning, and supervising activities of the patrol or investigative operation. In addition, a Division Chief performs administrative duties such as reviewing correspondence, budget requests, and activity reports of all the departmental bureaus. The Division chief is often in-charge of a Bureau, station and is 4th in command of the department should the Sheriff, Under-sheriff, and Assistant Sheriff be absent for unknown reasons.

The Sheriff's Police Captain, Edward Winters is tasked with overseeing the San Andreas Sheriff Department in it’s day to day  running. Which includes administrative running of the department. A Captain performs work that involves the responsibility for planning, assigning, and supervising activities of the patrol or investigative operation. In addition, a Captain performs administrative duties such as reviewing correspondence, budget requests, and activity reports of all the departmental bureaus. The Captain is often in-charge of the Sergeant Training Program, supervision of supervisory staff and other assigned duties.

 EXECUTIVE STAFF

Executive Staff is the name given to the group of people at the top of the faction. These are the faction leaders and are only ever inducted into Executive Staff after the incredible dedication and hard work throughout their time in the faction. This is a very exclusive group and rarely exceeds more than five people at any given time. Executive Staff are responsible for the implementation of new policies and suggestions within the faction and have the deciding vote in most decisions made within the faction.
 

  • Sheriff - Sheriff of the County of Los Santos is responsible and accountable for the running of the Department. Ergo, the Sheriff shall have governance over any policies, Divisions, Bureaus, members, and assets of the Department.
  • Under-sheriff - An Under-sheriff can be considered the Sheriff's right hand. They are an incredibly experienced faction member and have worked hard to obtain this position. The Under-sheriff leads the faction in the Sheriff's absence and can act on their behalf.
  • Assistant Sheriff - The Assistant Sheriffs are responsible for the direct supervision of a specific "Bureau" within the faction, which can be seen in the organizational chart in the next section. Each Assistant Sheriff is responsible for assisting with the daily running of the department and is also tasked with ensuring that all of the units and details within their Bureau are running correctly in an IC and OOC manner
  • Division Chief - A Division Chief is a senior executive of the Department who commands and is accountable for the activities of a Division in accordance with the policies prescribed by the Sheriff, Under-sheriff, and Assistant Sheriff(s). In managing a Division, a Chief is responsible for anticipating the problems, needs, trends, and resources of the Division and its personnel, and for providing the appropriate leadership to accomplish goals that complement the mission of the Department.

COMMAND STAFF
 

The faction's Command Staff are responsible for much of the administrative work that goes on within the faction. This can be assigned permissions/access and attending to administrative changes in faction member's files on the forums. Command Staff also assists the Executive Staff group with decision-making regarding internal complaints, out-of-character complaints, and general discussions regarding faction members.

  • Area Commanders - Commanders can become assistant Bureau supervisors, meaning they are responsible for assisting the Assistant Sheriffs with the day-to-day running of specific Bureaus within the faction. Depending on the needs of the faction at a given time, multiple Commanders can become the assistant supervisor of the same Bureau, meaning a high level of communication and teamwork is required between Captains. Commanders are also able to be assigned as the definitive Shift Commander for either the Day or Night Shift. This means that they are the top of the chain of shift command, and can make decisions regarding shift related issues.
  • Captains - Captains are the main administrative backbone of the faction. Captains are typically found at the helm of faction programs and units, as well as other important administrative positions. Captains are generally responsible for a large amount of forum work and the upkeep of important files that are required to keep the faction's administrative work up to date. Captains are expected to help out greatly within their chosen shift as Shift Command, and will directly liaise between Sergeants and the Shift Commander.

SUPERVISORY STAFF
 

Supervisory Staff is the group of individuals responsible for the day-to-day in-game running of the faction. They are the first point of contact for all of the lower-ranked members of the faction. Their list of duties is incredibly large and those who become members of Supervisory Staff are often those seeking a position of more responsibility within the faction. Supervisory Staff is the bracket at which a higher level of administrative work is expected. Those who reach Supervisory Staff are considered exemplary members of the faction and are expected to uphold OOC faction standards like everyone else.

  • Lieutenants - Lieutenants is considered the bridging rank between Supervisory Staff and Command Staff. Those promoted to Lieutenants are given much more responsibility within the faction and gain access to the ability to train aspiring future Sergeants as part of the Sergeant Training Program. This is one of the main differences between Lieutenants, and Sergeant, however, there are a few small changes in the IC rank authority which help the ranks become more distinct.
  • Sergeants - Sergeants are the backbone of the in-game aspect of the faction. They are expected to be looking out for faction members when on duty and supervising them on an IC basis. Sergeants play a part in administrative work, being able to update some important member files. Sergeants are expected to be available for the lower-ranked members of the faction for assistance or complaints or any issues that a member of the faction may have.

FIELD STAFF
 

Field Staff is the most populated rank bracket with the highest number of different ranks under it. Field Staff members are the backbone of the faction. While the lowest ranking members of the faction, Field Staff are incredibly important to the daily operations of the faction. Without dedicated, active members, the faction would not have nearly as much as a presence within the community.

  • Deputy Sheriff (Bonus II) - Deputy Sheriff (Bonus II) are the most senior members of Field Staff. They are expected to monitor those below them and assist in scenes where Supervisors are not available. Deputy Sheriff (Bonus II) can write IC and OOC notes on lower-ranked faction members for Supervisory Staff and above to be able to get an overview of someone's IC and OOC performance within the faction. Deputy Sheriff (Bonus II) is the first rank at which any sort of supervisory responsibility is given, and a member must become a Deputy Sheriff (Bonus II)to join the Sergeant Training Program and progress in the department.
  • Deputy Sheriff (Bonus I) - Deputy Sheriff (Bonus I) are considered to be experienced, deputies. This rank is directly responsible for the training of new members of the faction on an IC level. Deputy Sheriff (Bonus I) are expected to become Field Training Deputies before being able to proceed within the faction. The administrative side of this rank is still quite low and members at this rank can stay at this rank as long as they please. There is no real administrative requirement here if the faction member has no desire to rank up within the faction.
  • Deputy Sheriff - Deputy Sheriffs are freshly graduated, deputies. They have finished the training program and are finally able to patrol alone. This is a big step up, and Deputy Sheriff is the rank at which a faction member has the least amount of responsibility. They can go in-game and patrol and not have to worry about any mandatory administrative work. This faction rank is all about getting used to the department and finding your feet after you finish training. You can start to join certain units at this rank too, which opens many doors for faction members.
  • Deputy Sheriff Trainee - Deputy Sheriff Trainee is the introductory faction rank. This is the rank that most faction members begin outside of transfers and reinstatement(s). The purpose of this rank is to allow people to get used to the faction and have dedicated, senior members show them the ropes. Generalists must be helped along the way and given as much guidance as possible before they are promoted up to Deputy Sheriff.

CENTRAL PATROL DIVISION
 

This Division is responsible for the performance of the basic police tasks of protecting life and property, preserving the peace, preventing and suppressing crime, and the apprehension of violators of the law. The Central Patrol Division is responsible for the operation of the following Stations:.

  • West Vinewood Sheriff's Station

West Vinewood Sheriff's Station services the following areas: Hilltop Farm / Dillimore, The Panopticon / Blueberry, Fern Ridge / Montgomery, The Big Ear / Regular Tom, Verdant Meadows, Tierra Robada, Bone County, Los Santos City Central.

DETECTIVE/HOMICIDE DIVISION

The Detective Division's mission is to support the overall mission of the Sheriff’s Department by providing the highest quality criminal investigative services on a countywide basis. With that being said, the afore-mentioned division is subdivided into two bureaus:

 

1) The Major Crimes Bureau

This bureau is comprised of the following details: 1) Homicide Detail and 2) Metro Detail along with a task force called: Taskforce for Regional Auto-theft Prevention. This bureau investigates the following: Cases investigated by this Bureau involve: 1) accidental deaths, 2) homicides, 3) natural deaths (Coroner cases), 4) suicides, 5) missing juveniles when there is suspicion of foul play; or missing over 30 days, 6) missing and unidentified persons (adults), 7) shootings involving Department personnel that result in injury or death, 8.) assaults against on-duty Department personnel that result in life-threatening or serious injury and 9) found human remains.

2) The Operation Safe Streets Bureau

This bureau is comprised of the following details: 1) Gang Enforcement Team (GET) and 2) Operation Safe Street Detail (OSS). The responsibilities for the Gang Enforcement Team (GET) include (but not limited to): 1) Provide uniformed personnel to work directed patrol in the most active or violent target gang areas, 2) Gather, disseminate, and exchange information about street gangs and their association with Operation Safe Street Detail (OSS) and 3) Participate and prepare presentations for civic groups about street gangs and their activities.

The responsibilities for Operation Safe Street Detail (OSS) include (but not limited to): 1) Investigate high-grade felonies of targeted gangs, 2) Gather, coordinate, and disseminate information concerning gangs and their related criminal activities and 3) Maintain liaison with various local, state, and federal agencies concerning street gangs

FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM
 

The Field Training Program is responsible for the introduction of a newly assigned officer to the personnel, procedures, policies, and purposes of the individual law enforcement department. The Field Training Program provides the initial formal and informal training specific to the department and the day-to-day duties of its officers and it makes the new officers' field training as effective as possible by assigning them to multiple Field Training Officers (FTOs).

MISSION STATEMENT
 

The goal of the San Andreas Sheriff Department is to assist all victims of crime efficiently and diligently, and to help prevent further acts of violence and abuse. The following principles guide the San Andreas Sheriff Department: 

  •  To recognize that the law enforcement services provided must be responsive to the community’s needs, and that the primary purpose of the Sheriff Department, as a law enforcement agency, is to protect life and property. 
  • To accept responsibility for our actions, and to remain accountable to the citizens that the Office of Sheriff serves. 
  • To maintain an environment where there is no room for bias or prejudice. 
  • To base decision-making and conduct on the policies and procedures set forth by this department. 
  •  To enforce all traffic laws to reduce crashes, injuries, property damages and identify high risk traffic areas throughout the county to aid in the protection of the driving public. 
  • To maintain a trained staff responsible for the professional care and custody of those mandated to be confined through the Judicial System. 
  • To manage carefully the resources of the San Andreas Sheriff Department, 
  •  Be cognizant of the fact that we are accountable to the community
