THE CHRONICLE OF VALRISE(TCOV) 📰 TCOV Veteran Stories #2 TCOV Veteran Stories:  EIGHT YEARS OF BROTHERHOOD  An interview with KENJI GOMEZ   Some players measure success by wealth or status. For Kenji Gomez, success is measured by the memories and brotherhood he built over eight years in Valrise.   Representing El Corona Brotherhood, Kenji has been part of the city since its earlier days. Looking back on his arrival, he described a very different Valrise. “It was fun. There were a lot of opps, working hard just to pay rent.”   Although he admits his appearance can be intimidating, Kenji believes people often misunderstand him. “I look scary, but I’ve got a good personality. I might be a bad guy to everyone else, but the people who know me know I’m a good person.”   Unlike many veterans who miss the past, Kenji appreciates today’s Valrise. “I like the new Valrise. There are a lot more people now, and it’s good.”   Still, there is one piece of history he wishes would return. “BCR… Bone County Resistance. It’s unknown now. The OGs died, and we lost our militia.”   When asked about the people who made his journey unforgettable, he immediately named those closest to him. “William Gomez, Bob Gomez, Zen Gomez, Dong Gomez, Anika Gomez, and Undo Gomez.” For Kenji, those names represent the friendships that defined an era.   Surprisingly, his greatest achievement wasn’t owning businesses or expensive vehicles. “I became a better man.”   He described his toughest challenge as living through fear and war during his earlier years, experiences he now leaves behind as a retired veteran.   When asked about his favorite memory, Kenji smiled. “Gomez De El Veterano. That’s my favorite memory and movie of all time with my homies.”   If given one chance to relive the past, he wouldn’t hesitate. “2021. We had a lot of fun with my homeboys. We were catching opps. I wish I could go back.” Over the years, Kenji also built a successful business portfolio, once owning well-known establishments including Pharmacy, 24/7, and Binco. His collection once included rare vehicles such as the Bullet, NRG-500, Cheetah, and Sandking, though he says those are now gone.   Reflecting on today’s community, Kenji believes many newer players never experienced what made the old days special. “The new ones don’t really know how fun the old days in Mudoo were.”   Before ending the interview, Kenji wanted to recognize the people who shared that journey with him. “Shoutout to William, Bob, Zen, Anika, and Undo. I miss you all, homies.”   Finally, I asked what Valrise means to him after eight years. His answer captured everything. “Family. Valrise is part of my life. It’s my childhood and my memories.
