What is going on? How did I find myself in this wretched place? How did we?

To continue onward,  the well must be dug down to the depths as nefarious as those.

My grandfather fought the Japanese, my father fought the Syrians. Who am I fighting? Which and how? Where or why?

Corruption. Injustice. Authoritarianism.

None but me would.

What for?

The people of San Andreas.

Lebanon, 1982. The rolling hills that once seemed  so fascinating are now full hotbed of death and misery. The men on their duties had gone rough and wavering, without a clear distinction of which side has moreso.  For three days my company fed on cherries, squirrels, and hummus. We did not find ourselves on a side of the siege we expected to.

It was 1961  when my mother gave birth to me in an underfunded hospital in Palomino Creek. On the news of an impending war of 1967, my father, god bless his memory, moved to the State of Israel and volunteered to join the IDF. My old man went on to fight the Syrians twice, before losing his leg to a hostile tank and finally retiring; I had been drafted in 1979, and with the memory of my father's glory still fresh, did not hesitate to find the strength sufficient to rise to the rank of Captain in the Golani Brigade by the third year of my service - the year we soon after found ourselves in the middle of a Lebanese forest, surrounded by the mediterranean wildlife and our enemies armed with the most recent technologies of the Soviet Union.  No matter; we went forward. Only forward.

We were somewhere on the edge of Beirut, Diamond Dogs blasting from speakers, when 1-3 got blown up by a bulls-eyed shot from a PLO grenadier.  The sight of my men, on fire, rushing out of the wrecked vehicle calling to their mothers, their gods, the medics... Gave me a kickstart to organize the company into a defensive formation and beat back the attack with no further casualties, but it also gave me something more. A deep revelation that I've since been carrying on my back. All lives depend only on those in charge, and the chain of command goes much further up than the office of the Prime Minister. Could the parents and widows be spared their grief had I insisted on a more thorough reconnaisance of the area? Could Shlomo's leg be saved had I reconsidered the tactical situation of the position I ordered him to take; could Alon's right eye be saved had I managed to make the  damn idiot wear his goggles?

It was a harsh price to pay, but all costs are deemed worthy when peace and prosperity of your countrymen are at cost.

Boys lost their limbs and lives and friends, but a victory was achieved. No more than what could have been asked for.

But as I returned home, my own fight did not stop. If I disclose the details of the following 35 years of my life, my bid for governorship would be ended on the basis of my assassination; but now I am back in my true homeland, and eager to apply my knowledge to good use: to help the people of San Andreas live their lives to the fullest in a safety ensured by a functioning government, confident in the democratic nature of their society and in their future lives of well-being and prosperity.

By running to become a governor, I intend to shift the direction this state is going for one of a better future by any means I may posses, with divine strength given to me by the People, the Nation, the Gods, and the webs of the Universe themselves - and I shall not stop until the goals I deem neccessary are achieved.
