THE CHRONICLE OF VALIRSE(TCOV) INTERVIEW #007 FEATURE: JAHMAL JONES — “SURVIVAL IN AN EVIL CITY”   During a recent interview, I sat down with Jahmal Jones, a citizen who openly described himself as a thug and shared his perspective on life, survival, and success in Valrise.   When asked what being a thug means to him, Jahmal answered without hesitation.   “It’s a means of survival, especially in this city. I just do what I can to get money.”   According to Jahmal, regular jobs never appealed to him. Instead, he chose a different path, one that he believes allowed him to build a life for himself despite difficult circumstances.   Reflecting on his childhood and early years, Jahmal described his upbringing in one word: struggle.   “When I got to this city, I had nothing.”   He also expressed frustration with government institutions, arguing that many people remain trapped in difficult situations with limited opportunities to improve their lives.   Throughout the interview, Jahmal repeatedly returned to two values he considers essential: RESPECT & DILIGENCE.   “Respect can get you a long way in this city. If you don’t have that, it’s ggz.”   According to him, many people misunderstand individuals in his position. He believes citizens often forget that people involved in street life also have families, responsibilities, and loved ones depending on them.   “They don’t understand we got lives too, and families to provide for.”   When asked whether he regrets any of the decisions that brought him to where he is today, Jahmal was clear in his response.   “NO.”   He claimed that every major decision he has made has worked in his favor and contributed to the life he currently enjoys.   Money remains one of his biggest motivations.   “What keeps me going today is money. Without money, I’ll be nothing.”   Jahmal also stated that he has built a comfortable living for himself and considers himself successful by his own standards.   As our conversation continued, I asked what advice he would offer younger citizens looking for guidance. His response was surprisingly direct.   “I don’t have any advice. People should do what they can to survive. I’m no teacher.
