Formerly known as Gi Joe, Niko Lopez was once a two faced corrupt cop. At night, he rolled with the Ballas and during the day, with the feds. 

He was so loyal to his homies, he always leaked intel and never arrested anyone in the Balla gang.  But that loyalty was short lived when two members did not approve of him. They brutally attacked Niko while he was on duty near Gas station 9. He lost his sanity and was admitted into a mental hospital for 7 days.

Upon being dismissed, he changed his identity so no one would ever know his past and decided to not associate with gangs orany groups. He made up his mind that he would amass great wealth by doing heists and missions all on his own.
