you mean hand held radar that only shows speed, plate and vehicle model name?

This makes the mod worse Matthew, the mod being shown in the video tells you the suspect car HP... widely used by the SAPD.

  2. The discussion about the mod is VERY valid to the entire culture and server situation in my opinion. It demonstrates:

     A) The willingness of EITHER side to move to "gray areas" in the rules to gain an advantage

     B) The "play-to-win" mentality displayed by the blatant use of bullshit "shortcuts" to avoid RP

Partner RP is ESSENTIAL to police work and you automated it. May as well stop RPing at all. If you don't get this point then join a CnR server.

It quotes it from areas within a set distance of the radar any further it wont get u meaning same as a player would update

Matthew has literally added a radar gun that gives you car HP - this indicates to me his stance on it, why should you get the vehicle car HP without the radar gun?

also those are legal mods initially fast equip is just a keybind for /equip

where as the chase is just updating.

if locmax wants me to remove them by all means he can pm me ingame or forum pm me regarding it telling to remove. as well he saw me use it before I presume and from what i see hes all cool and dandy with it yeah it spams a little but that can be fixed

Where does it obtain the area from?

A fast equip mod and a mod that binds to another player using CLEO giving you location, direction, car HP?

G fuckin' G. And a player got banned recently for jumping their BMX higher by double tapping Ctrl, yet these mods are allowed. Astounding.

  7. I think this situation shows:

    A) The beauty of hindsight (ie, we now have an unconscious bias, knowing Elias has only just joined the server)

    B) Not everyone reads the text (Elias seeing a group of group of blips at the toll, combined with the message saying a suspect was at the toll made this a stupid direction to run)

    C) Suspects should be less aggressive and focus on escape (though I see why you choose to kill the cop, they always take the piss in /p saying we should have finished them so they can't return)

    D) Edited videos aren't great evidence

    E) Rooney is a terrible negotiator (again, lel, couldn't resist it)

That being said, Jamal clearly had no intention of immediately killing Elias until the police arrived on scene, issuing the classic generic threat over the megaphone.

I disagree with Dizzy about the earlier shots - these were clearly to disable the car and not wound.

It is naive to say they should not have shot at Elias when backup arrived for him. Historical server behaviour dictates that once Rooney and his partner arrived on scene, there would be a shootout anyway (the threat is in the message) making it irrelevant who they shot first.

So yes, borderline behaviour and very aggressive. Foolish to label as DM on this occasion based on the server standard at the moment with SWAT DBing like gang members in the ghetto.

I dont think anyone will change if you give one person the warning, you need to start issuing group warnings for matters like these.

    Elaborate.

  9. I'm hoping server management can clarify and update a rule for me.

Rule 16 - "MISUSE OF NON-ROLEPLAY AND ROLEPLAY INFORMATION"

For those of you unfamiliar with the rule, please see it below. It appears to be "no meta-gaming" in a far lengthier form.

    Spoiler

    16. MISUSE OF NON-ROLEPLAY AND ROLEPLAY INFORMATION

This rule prohibits the ways of misuse of roleplay and non-roleplay information, either by using information you obtained through non-roleplay ways in a roleplay situation, or by using non-roleplay chats to roleplay.

    Roleplay chats:

    • Walkie-talkie
    • Shouts
    • Megaphone
    • Whisper
    • Local talk
    • Phone

    Non-roleplay chats:

    • Public chat
    • Ask chat
    • Private messages
    • Group messages
    • Local out of roleplay chat (( /b ))

    Additional notes:

    • /do is for describing environment, not for speaking, chatting and other such use.
    • /me is for describing an action, not for speaking, chatting and other such use.

    Example:

[#01] John Doe uses /pm to Jane Doe in order to organize a drug deal between them.

[#02] John Doe uses /p to ask if anybody wishes to purchase his house.

[#03] John Doe uses /gm to call for backup while getting kidnapped.

    Minimal punishment:

    • Warning on first offense.
    • Admin jail up to 15 minutes on second offense.
    • Admin jail up to 30 minutes on third offense.
    • Permanent ban if continued.

I have consistently been informed that map blips and name-tags are allowed to be used as IC information. For example, a player hiding behind a bush who cannot be seen on screen can be found using a map blip, or the PD can suspect a player by their ID simply by seeing their name-tag.

Nothing in the rules states this is allowed and I feel it confuses newer players joining an RP server expecting the same rules as other servers, reading the rules to confirm, then being told in the inevitable admin situation that occurs that it IS allowed. This feels like a "word of mouth" rule that no new player would be able to find.

The rule is effectively saying "you can't meta-game," which is then followed by an admin saying "well, you can a bit"

Can the bounds of this rule please be added to the clarifications section. I understand why the term "meta-gaming" is not used, as frankly, most people seem to do it... but by the wording of the rule, 99% of players are consistently breaking a server rule by using map blips and name-tags.

    Thanks!

    J.

  10. My only thought on this would be a scripted briefcase that can be filled with up to a maximum quantity of drugs that you can hand over to someone.

Though I can't say I agree with that either, seems a bit OP. Reasonable to expect police to see you handing drugs over if they're close by.

Any criminal group sees someone they want to kidnap > Guns them down, force revives

Any PD/SWAT sees someone they want to arrest > Guns them down, force revives

Any FBI sees someone they want to interrogate > Guns them down, force revives

Any civilian wants to not be force revived > Gets gunned down, gets force revived

    I like #1

    Couldn't agree more.

#1 is the way to go.

  12. I'm happy with current pricing, trucking does seem to net me a bit more than most drugs but that seems to be the exception amongst most players, not the rule (yes, I'm good at it).

To show those of you who have never been into that #criminallyfe how much it does cost, I'll try to add up my own expenditure like Christian did...

    Daily avg:

30k - 10k 3 times per day - Minimal loadout (50 Desert Eagle, 50 Shotgun, Armour), Max Loadout would be double or triple this.

20k - 60k twice a week - Mask (I once lost 3 in one day, average is closer to two a week)

10k - PnS estimate per day

    11k - On average, 3 BLS Kits a day

    5k - On average, 5 Painkillers a day

    Total of around 76k a day~

I'm probably on the lower end of "cost" on the criminal side. The above doesn't include being killed in a turf (fine), robbed, jailed, items seized etc.

Works out to 1-2 hours grinding of meth, slightly less for heroin. Of course there are other legal sources of income, criminal and not.

I think on balance, it works out alright!
