D-Day or otherwise known as Operation "Overlord" or the invasion of Normandy is a major part of World War 2 when the allied forces started the invasion of Europe on the 6th of June 1944. The beaches they invaded were heavily fortified with bunkers overlooking the beaches and the beaches themselves with various obstacles which made maneuvering difficult especially for tanks. About 4,400 allied soldiers died on that day.
How will the event work?
The event will require players to be split up into two teams. The defending team (the one who will be on the beach bunkers and defending the beach) and the offensive team (the team that will come up from the sea to invade the beach). The event is quite simple. The offensive team has to conquer the beach by eliminating all of the opposing forces. Once the offensive team has eliminated all the opposing force and captured their bunkers they win. If the offensive team is killed then the defenders win.
The event will be supplied with a special map as visible on the image in the header which will consist of a lot of obstacles, bunkers, wrecks of various planes and vehicles, fires and so on. There will be boats and scripted boats involved in the event which will be used to transport the offensive team from the mother ship to the beaches. There might also be other things scripted such as artillery fire. All the weapons will be issued by the admins along with the appropriate skins.
When will the event be held?
June 5th, 2021 just the day before the real world anniversary of it. The time... somewhere between 15:00 and 17:00 depending on how long it'll take us to organize everyone considering my assumption that players won't be easy to manage and coordinate.
