    Forensic Division of SAPD

    Coroner case

On the 19th of August, the lifeless body of a police officer was found in front of the Los Santos Police Department. By the badge found on the scene, the victim was identified as "Tenpenny". He suffered multiple gunshot wounds which lead to his death. The crime scene was investigated by the Forensic Division of SAPD with Sergeant Murphy and Officer Mark Westwood.

Sergeant Rodney Murphy, Chief Investigator with the Forensic Science Division, said that the officer died 3 hours before the body was found. The team has collected fingerprints and DNA samples from the officer's body. He also added that, the team will check the CCTV footage of the area as the person who shot the officer was definitely captured by one of the many cameras around Pershing Square.

As the investigation is still ongoing, the police asked anyone with information about the crime scene to come forward so the killer can be brought to justice.

    SAPD press conference

    Addressing crime and enhancing professionalism

At a recent news conference conducted at Los Santos City Hall, Lieutenant Radolf Baloch and Senior Officer Alex Reynolds of the San Andreas Police Department responded to a number of critical questions regarding the department's most recent initiatives and efforts to combat the city's escalating crime rates.

The recently reinstated "County Division", which had been a source of debate, was one of the main subjects covered. Lieutenant Baloch stressed that it wasn't a knockoff but rather a division that had previously existed and had been reinstated in order to meet particular operational requirements. Under some conditions, the County Division was also given jurisdiction inside the city to enable effective emergency responses.

The conference also provided insight into the department's initiatives to reduce crime and increase resident safety. The SWAT team has completed extensive examinations to make sure they were ready to handle any kind of situation, according to Lieutenant Baloch. He emphasized the reduction in crime rates brought on by their proactive efforts while reiterating that the department was still aggressively working to entirely abolish crime.

Additionally, Senior Officer Alex Reynolds emphasized the value of professionalism within the department and disclosed the rollout of new training initiatives to improve officers' abilities. The intention is to encourage the police force to uphold higher standards of performance and behaviour.

Tense standoff resolved as National Guard secure

    Idlewood Precinct amid legal ambiguity

A tense standoff between the National Guard (NG) and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) was resolved today at the Idlewood Precinct in a dramatic turn of events. The dispute started when the NG took control of the precinct and claimed that it had been given to them so they could use it as a recruiting facility. However, confusion and heated debate resulted from a lack of clear legal documentation regarding the precinct's ownership.

Concerned citizen Larry Ozaak questioned the validity of NG's claim by citing federal law. Idlewood Precinct was not mentioned within the federal laws as property of NG, and that the operations were restricted to the Eastern Basin Naval Base and Ocean Docks.

National Guard's Colonel, Ralph Davis, emphasized that General Idalia, had legitimately acquired and funded the precinct. However, no official changes to the law to ratify this transfer had been made.

The Idlewood Precinct was subsequently confirmed to be an NG recruitment center by Senator Matthew Reiner. Although the legal ambiguities have been clarified, the incident highlights the value of clear and open legal procedures to prevent similar conflicts in the future.

    Vice Governor Cecillia Cromwell

Balancing luxury, political ascent, and resilience

In an exclusive interview with Valrise Star News, Sophia Knox sat down with Vice Governor Cecillia Cromwell at her magnificent mansion, providing a glimpse into the world of luxury and political ambition. The conversation shed light on Cromwell's personal journey and offered insights into her resilience in the face of criticism. Addressing the opulent surroundings, Cromwell was asked about her lavish lifestyle, expensive clothing, vehicles, and the multimillion-dollar mansion. Cromwell candidly revealed that her wealth stems from her aristocratic family background, emphasizing that her personal possessions are not acquired through her public office. The discussion then turned to Cromwell's remarkable rise in politics, as she became the Vice Governor, a significant achievement in San Andreas political history. Cromwell attributed her success to her inherent passion for politics, nurtured by her family's background. However, she humbly acknowledged that it was challenging for a woman to reach such a prominent position and acknowledged the accomplishments of Luna Finch, another female leader in government.

Delving into her upbringing and values, Cromwell spoke of her English heritage and growing up surrounded by politics within the very mansion where the interview took place. She emphasized the importance of determination and affirmed that anyone with true dedication can achieve their goals. Addressing criticism and negative feedback, Cromwell revealed her resilient approach. She acknowledged accepting constructive criticism but emphasized her focus on positive action, responding with hard work and a commitment to staying positive.

    Ace Westbrook organizes boxing tournament

    Raising funds for the needy

Ganton Gym recently played host to a thrilling charity boxing tournament organized by Democrat Governor candidate Ace Westbrook and his Vice, Chuck Clayton. The event brought together a diverse group of participants who showcased their skills in the ring, all in the name of a good cause. Among the contenders, the final match saw Brian Jeffrey and Carl Ray face off, with Carl emerging victorious and securing the grand prize of $300,000.

The tournament aimed not only to entertain but also to support charitable causes. Ace Westbrook, known for his commitment to helping the less fortunate, made a heartfelt promise to continue hosting such events if elected as Governor. He emphasized his dedication to assisting individuals like "John Tibet" and many others who are in dire need of support. However, the evening took an unexpected turn when the event was disrupted by a group of anti-social elements during the Royal Rumble match, leading to its disbandment. Despite this unfortunate incident, the spirit of unity and generosity prevailed throughout the evening, with the tournament successfully raising a substantial amount for charitable endeavors.

    Governor Candidate Mark Westbrook

Committed to economic growth and public safety

Mark Westbrook, a candidate for the Governor position, brings a distinguished background as a brave firefighter and experienced police officer. With a focus on economic development and crime reduction, Westbrook aims to tackle the pressing issues facing the state. Concerned about rising crime and a declining economy, he decided to run for Governor alongside his brother, Derek Westbrook. Their mission is to form a capable team dedicated to improving the government and prioritizing economic growth.

Westbrook's campaign centers on bolstering the economy and combating crime. He aims to support small businesses and ensure ample job opportunities across all sectors, thus reducing unemployment. Additionally, he plans to enhance healthcare accessibility, affordability, and quality by allocating increased funding to the police and health departments.

Despite receiving threats from criminal gangs and mafias, Westbrook remains resolute in his commitment to minimize gang activity. His government team comprises individuals with unblemished backgrounds, ensuring a strong and effective approach to law enforcement.

Westbrook's final message to voters is one of authenticity and integrity. He emphasizes that he will not resort to unethical practices or coercion to secure votes, but rather fight the election genuinely, prioritizing the state's interests over personal gain.

As the election day nears, the state anticipates the candidate who will drive economic prosperity and public safety. Mark Westbrook's background as a firefighter and police officer, combined with his vision for the state's future, position him as a promising contender. Voters are urged to carefully consider their choices and cast their votes for the candidate who will lead them into a brighter future.

Snap checking - Federal Bureau of Investigation

On 6th of July 2023, the FBI established a checkpoint at Mulholland Intersection to monitor the traffic that was entering Los Santos. The main purpose of the checkpoint was to search vehicles for illegal items and check their drivers' documents. After many months, the agencies have taken a step that can prove extremely valuable in eliminating crimes like drug smuggling and human trafficking. To make sure everything goes smooth, Port Authority, San Andreas Police Department, and personnel of the San Andreas Fire Department also assisted the FBI. As per a citizen (whose name won't be disclosed), such checkpoints should be set regularly to make sure the metropolitan city remains free of crimes. Some sources also claimed that the checkpoint was made to catch a major criminal who had plan to enter Los Santos as the FBI Director Matthew Reiner was also present. Nevertheless, the snap checking was carried for around an hour during which some suspects who tried to flee were even shot dead.

    Conflagration engulfs Palomino Creek

In a ruinous turn of events, a fire broke out in the middle of Palomino Creek, Red County. The incident caused significant damage to the backside of the P.C. bank along with multiple businesses that were linked up together. The fire quickly spread inside the properties and tore through everything, leaving a trail of destruction it its wake. However, swift action from the active fire responders averted the fire from advancing further. Their coordinated efforts and timely intervention succeeded in extinguishing the blaze, eventually halting its progression. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, icing the safety of both the store's workers and the general public. Despite the successful containment of the fire, the consequences were still disheartening. A considerable number of high-value furniture objects, pharmaceutical items and firearms, fell victim to the flames. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of disasters and the resilience required to overcome their aftermath. As investigations into the cause of the fire continue, local authorities are working diligently to ensure such incidents can be prevented in the future.

After the fire has been extinguished, SAFD Captain Brad Johnson agreed to provide an interview:

    - Sophia Knox says [British accent]: Hi, I'm Sophia Knox, an Assistant Journalist with Star News.

    - Sophia Knox says [British accent]: There was a Fire Incident at Palomino before. Were you present there?

    - Brad Johnson says [Bengali accent]: Well today at 5:00AM there were fire at the Palomino Furniture Store. Thanks to our sound alarm , we swiftly responded.

    - Brad Johnson says [Bengali accent]: Luckily  no one was harmed and the fire was extinguished successfully.

    - Sophia Knox says [British accent]: I was present at the spot and looked like the backside of the furniture store had some goods. Which were burned?

    - Brad Johnson says [Bengali accent]: Well we tried to save some furniture as possible. As we tried to extinguished the fire closer to source. But our top priority were the store staff and general public.

    - Sophia Knox says [British accent]: Alright. We're lucky to have Fire Responders like you which are honest towards their duties.

    - Brad Johnson says [Bengali accent]: Thank You Ma'am it's our duty to save people's life always.

    San Andreas Police Department

    Justice has been served

On the 28th of February, 2023, Police Officers I, Alexander Jade and Peter Morrison have been officially warned by the SAPD command for disrespecting two volunteers. A Valrise Star News reported got on the field and hosted an interview for the two volunteers, Salaman Khan and Steven Hartyperez:

    - Luna Finch says: This is Luna Finch from Valrise Star News. We are at Los Santos City Hall, with two Volunteer Officers whom presumably got abused by their superiors. Good afternoon gentleman, would you like to introduce yourselves?

    - salaman khan says: Hello everyone, I am Volunteer Salaman Khan with San Andreas Police Department!

    - Steven Hartyperez says: And I am Steven Hartyperez, volunteer within the S.A.P.D.

    - Luna Finch says: Can you tell us what happened earlier?

    - salaman khan says: My partner and I were patrolling and we spotted a cruiser with 3 officers that was also patrolling but they did not have their lights turned on which is required by law at night time.

    * Steven Hartyperez keeps a steady position, clearly camera shy.

    - salaman khan says: We asked them to pull over at which moment they jumped out of their vehicle and said "get the fuck out of the bike". We told them about the traffic law that they were violating but they were more focused at questioning us, and asking us difference between assault and battery, which had nothing to do with the situation. They were very intimidating towards us and very hostile even though we just asked them to follow the law.

    * Kendrick Johnson looks into the camera.

    - Kendrick Johnson shouts [Afro-American accent]: Fuck her right in da pussy!

    - salaman khan says: In past, when Officer Peter Morrison was just a cadet, my partner and I pulled him over and gave him a fine for traffic violation. He was blocking a road at Idlewood with a bus. He was also not complying with us back then, so we had to call Captain Kowalski to assist us, and he forced him to comply with us back then. So I think the now officer Peter Morrison is trying to get back at us for enforcing the law from that past incident. Even while my partner here was wounded after he took down three suspects, officer Peter Morrison was more focused at bickering than at providing him medical aid. I want to say big thanks to police command officers who helped us in each situation by disciplining these hostile officers. Captain Kacper Kowalski and Deputy Chief Ed Davis and Chief Jeremy Hoover, they all help us to do our job and protect us from the bad ones.

    - Steven Hartyperez says: I also want to say that none of the officers within the SAPD should worry.

    - Luna Finch says: Seems like justice has been served.

    - Steven Hartyperez says: We're not here to hunt them down. We're here to enforce the laws. By also respecting them. If you feel threatened by this statement, respect the law. And you'll have nothing to worry about.

    * Ed Davis cheers them on.

    - Luna Finch says: How do you think your fellow officers will behave around you, knowing that two of their colleagues got kicked after your confrontation?

    - Steven Hartyperez says: I don't think we'll have a natural connection with them. Hopefully they will act normal. But I think we'll get some /special/ treatment.

    - Luna Finch says: Do you believe this will impact the teamwork and overall performance of SAPD?

    - Steven Hartyperez says: It might. Maybe better working enviroment for the volunteers.

    - Luna Finch says: Is there anything else you'd like to add to this interview, Mr. Khan or Mr. Hartyperez?

    - Steven Hartyperez says: We don't hold grudges. That's it from me.

    - salaman khan says: I think that was all, it is very good to have command staff that cares about officers and integirty.

    - Luna Finch says: Thank you for having the courage to stand up for yourselves and continuing to protect the city.

    - Luna Finch says: This was Luna Finch with Valrise Star News.

    Waste collectors

    A different world

From the trucks of the 90s to getting harassed by thugs, waste collectors lives are a hidden aspect of the modern society. With an annual income of $100,000, these people work all day long to make sure that all the trash gets disposed of to its ultimate location. As per Drex Collins and another collector who chose to remain anonym, their only demand is to get a handsome salary. For that, they are planning to create a union and throw their demands in front of the upcoming governor. Getting robbed by criminals, hit and run by crazy drivers, being teased by the police, all of these are part of their daily lives.

Having a head office of 2 acres at Willowfield, the corporate side of garbage disposal business enjoys sitting at a desk on stacks of money whereas the field workers have to "dig the dirt" to earn their bread. It was further added that areas like Ganton become really messy at times where the local residents at least bothered. Nevertheless, the job is improving day by day, as the company has signed a contract with China Town, San Fierro and will soon be taking over the responsibility of their cleanliness.

A day with the San Andreas Fire Department

On 23rd of September, Valrise Star News journalist John Bough joined the S.A.F.D. Lieutenant Shaquana Howard on a ride along to observe and document the day-to-day activities of firefighters and paramedics. The department's primary mission is to rescue citizens of San Andreas, whether they get caught in a building that's on fire, a traffic collision, a shootout at the infamous gas station 9, or any other type of event that can put someone in danger, the S.A.F.D. personnel puts their lives at risk in order to uphold their oath. Lieutenant Howard further added that this organization is dealing with extreme conditions, where a simple routine call can easily develop in a war-like situation which require tactical combat casualty care.

United States of America v. Layla White

On the 3rd of September, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation acted on a suspicious public advertisement made by Layla White, through which she was trying to sell "toy cases". A federal agent set up a deal with the suspect and purchased two cases of M4 assault rifles along with 2 cases of sniper rifles. Two days later, Layla White's properties were raided by the F.B.I., in which they found 1518 grams of cannabis sativa, multiple pots for growing the cannabis, 6 C4 explosive devices, and 15,225 marked dollars.

    The San Andreas Sheriff Department

Valrise Star News reporter John Bough joined the SASD deputies on the field and documented their day-to-day activities. The prime reason behind this interaction was to learn more about the department, how they work, what is their goal, and what should we expect from them. A question that we addressed is - for what purpose was SASD formed when the San Andreas Police Department was already enforcing the law across the whole state?

The answer is simple. One department is meant to handle a single domain, you can't be a "Jack-of-all-trades". The S.A. Sheriff Department role is to cover the rural areas, where the terrain is rough, difficult to navigate and tactics that are commonly used within cities become ineffective. Thus the SASD takes priority into enforcing the state law within counties, while the SAPD focuses on the urban areas. SD Captain Edward Harrison said that interdepartmental relations between SASD and SAPD are maintained at a high level; he further disclosed that a joint training system might be implemented soon.

    The infamous Gas Station 9

On every day of the year, a new incident happens at Idlewood, specifically at the GS9. More often than not, these end up with tragedies; mass shootings, injured and deceased bystanders, peace officers, gang members, and pretty much anyone that happens to be present during the altercations. But who is to blame for all of these? Some say this is the result of the "gang mentality" adopted by the collective which was born and grown in the poverty of Idlewood, Ganton, and El Corona; other suggest the cause would be a corrupt justice system, where everyone is permitted to become a volunteer officer and enforce "their own law"; some even say the problem is deep rooted within our society, where the constitutional rights make it incredibly easy to own a plethora of firearms. Nonetheless, it is very difficult to pin point the blame through a simple thought process, and it is more likely that all of these are caused by multiple factors.

    Racism and incitement to violence

On the 28th of August, the police force responded to Gas Station 9 and were trying to peacefully apprehend a suspect. Throughout the encounter, SAPD Volunteer Leon Bailey passed by in a police cruiser and used the megaphone to escalade the situation by shouting racist remarks. After inciting to violence, the Volunteer did a U-turn and left the scene. Luckily, the well trained police officers present at the scene performed their duty exceptionally and followed the SAPD procedures. The current situation of Leon Bailey is yet unknown, is he still serving for the San Andreas Police Department? Does he still have a weapon license? Was he brought to justice for his unhuman behavior?

Intense moments captured at East Los Santos

Four individuals were being chased by the law enforcement in a high speed vehicle pursuit throughout East Los Santos. Evading in a green Premier, the suspects flipped their car at Las Colinas after a SAPD Volunteer performed a pursuit intervention technique; the vehicle caught flames while the malefactors got out and took distance. The whole situation evolved into a foot chase and respectively a shootout, in which, the peace officers came out victorious.
