I love 80s more than I love myself, but I'll have to say let's just stick to modern-day for this one. While the point that dellpacker sounds stupid, he is kind of correct. We have a hard time already with people not RPing the modern day properly, going back 30-40 years wouldn't make it any better. Also, if you want to learn more about one or another kind of RP there is way more research sources for today than there is about how it was in the 80s.
In a nutshell: I'd love to RP in the 80s but this isn't the place nor the time for it. Same with other eras. Stick to 2020.
