PREAMBLE

The multiple stage recruitment process is designed to test and prepare candidates to become sworn police officers of the Vice City Police Department and ensure they're able to conduct their duties at the highest level.

 

I - APPLICANT PHASE - CIVILIAN

  1. APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT (AE)
  The Application for Employment is the very first step of joining the police force. The main purpose of AE is to gather basic information from the applicant, such as education, previous employment, and criminal background. The submitted information will be closely investigated by the Recruitment and Selection Unit in order to check if the applicant meets all the requirements.
  
  2. POLICE WRITTEN EXAM (PWE)
  Upon the application being accepted, the applicant will be required to fill out a written examination which consists of essay questions. The examination will assess the applicant's decision-making ability in certain situations he may face as a police officer. This will also test the applicant's writing proficiency.
  
  3. DEPARTMENT INTERVIEW (DI)
  The Department Interview will be conducted by one of the RSU members to assess whether the applicant should proceed to the next stage. During the Department Interview, the applicant will be asked various questions regarding his job motivation and personal life accomplishments, as well as determine their oral communication skills.
  
  (( The original purpose of the DI is to test the applicant's roleplay skills and demonstrate his character's personality. RSU members will closely monitor the applicant's RP during the interview so it is crucial that the applicant roleplays as best as he/she can. TS/Microphone checks will also be conducted during this stage. ))

  II - ACADEMY PHASE - POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT

  
  
  
  
  4. POLICE ACADEMY
  The Police Academy consists of broad education on procedures, policy, and law. This stage ensures that the recruit is ready to become a police officer within the Department and prepares them for the final examination.
  
  5. POLICE ACADEMY EXAM (PAE)
  Upon completing the Academy, recruits will be obligated to sit the final examination. The test consists of a variety of questions, ranging from theoretical scenarios to manual related questions. This stage is designed to fully evaluate the recruit's ability and potential as a police officer within the Department. Should recruits pass the examination, they will be invited to the graduation ceremony where they will be sworn in as police officers.

Lateral Transfer Opportunities

 

PREAMBLE

The Vice City Police Departments offers the opportunity for former & current law enforcement officers of neighboring counties and states to transfer directly to the department without going through the usual selection process. However, due to the variety of different procedures and regulations, transferees will be obligated to complete the Academy prior to attending duties. No exceptions will be made.

NOTE: Depending on your previous experience, you may also be required to go through the Field Training Program if deemed necessary.

As Vice City never slows down evolving and growing, we all got to adapt to new challenges that will arise and will keep arising. I want everyone to feel safe, and I more than so, hope that our department is going to play a positive role in leadership in addressing those same challenges in making the future a better place for everyone. While in hopes this serves everyone as a tool to understand our department better, it is important to understand that Vice City Police Department is committed to working with you. From the solutions to new problems to reasons not to create one.

 

Working together with the community is an integral part of keeping our city safe. For the Vice City Police Department it is important that citizens can contact a law enforcement officer for any and all reasons, whenever they feel it is justified.
