(Sanderson when he was 15, from the right side of the picture, 1996)

He was initially born in Vietnam, but the corrupt government made his family flee from Vietnam by boat. It was also called "Vietnamese Boat People" ("Thuyền nhân"), a reference to every immigrant from Vietnam who escaped the Communists regime. A lot of them had been killed because of the storm and pirates for the way of freedom to the United States.

It was a bad day... With heavy rain and storm in the South China Sea. The boat, however, took it down with many families, but Sanderson's family is luckier than others. At the end of the day, they found themselves in the Philippines. A new beginning to the way of freedom. It was January of 1985, and he was 4 by the time.

The United States finally approved the immigration from his family in September of 1985, and they finally had freedom now in the United States. But... Their journey just has begun.

They settled in Atlanta, Georgia. His father worked from day to night as a construction worker, 24/7, to gain money for his small family and from empty hands. His mom even learned English to help herself know better about the city living in America, too. Because they are Americans now. Not Vietnamese anymore.

Sanderson also suffered from communication disorder from a young age because he was forced to learn French than Vietnamese, making himself couldn't enunciate or write English correctly.

Time passed by, and in 1996, he joined up with a gang called "The Danang Boys" which was also a group of members from Vietnam, finding new hope in the U.S., but they lost all hope to believe the freedom and democracy could help them so they become gang members. They are farmers, homeless, and some from the poor class in society of Vietnam.

Sanderson has never been arrested for this because he always stays away from trouble and has good knowledge about medical stuff since his mother can afford a job at Pharmacy. So everyone respected him as a "Good Doctor" although he didn't like the nickname.

Ten Things You Didn't Know About the 75th Ranger Regiment (Part 1) | Article | The United States Army
(3rd Ranger Battalion during Operation/Object Rhino, Afghanistan, 2001)

September 11th, 2001. After long years of hard-working, his mum from a cashier at the pharmacy now became the owner of its own pharmacy. She has a degree in Doctoral as well. Same as his father became the owner of a construction company. But lately, Sanderson found out his father was in the South Tower in New York, trapped when he said he had an important meeting with the client, but they were all trapped because of the fire burning up the tower. Watching television from Georgia, he's crying and praying his father will be okay, but it's never been. They never found his father's body to bury him properly, as many victims had been killed during the terrorist attack.

Sanderson and his gangster intuition enlisted in the U.S. Army after the 9/11 attack. He was the best of the best, always finished up from the top order to his own Drill Sergeant order. He originally was in the 1st Infantry Division, and he has the recommendation to join the 75th Ranger Regiment, the elite unit at the time that would be deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He passed all the RASP (Ranger Assessment & Selection Program) from 1 to 2, as he always learned from his mistakes to improve himself better than any soldier in his platoon. With his kindness, he always helped other teammates, an expert in marksmanship, medicine, and navigation, which promoted him to Corporal when he was only 20. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, Charlie Company, and held the rank of Corporal.

Soon, the war turned him additionally devastated by killing insurgents, which changed him. Not a friendly and kind person as always anymore. He was just like a hunter, and his prey was only insurgents. Almost 6 years have passed, and he's finally given up and finishing his last tour in Iraq. From the notebook, he wrote:

"I'd like to kill and root them one by one, and they are like rats, nothing more. Why do I have to feel sorry for them? Did they apologize to my father? For my feeling? Fuck no... They have to root out... One by one..." - July 2009

(Sanderson during the last day of his tour, in 2009)

On the last day of his tour, 3 of his best friends in Charlie Company were killed by IED, and his vehicle was behind them during the patrol of the outskirts of Baghdad. He has also been injured during the shootout and retired as Staff Sergeant.

Well, this will be the journey of my character "Sanderson Nguyen", although I want him dead already for no reason, xD. I'm bored also so yes.

To be honest, the U.S. Army has issued the 75th Ranger Regiment with different types of cammies, the first stage was from 2001 to 2007, DCU, and the second stage was from 2008 to 2009, the UCP.
