Chapter I. The Foundation

The Yakuza Organisation is a family of transnational crime syndicates originating in Japan. The Yakuza are known for their strict codes of conduct, their organised fiefdom nature and several unconventional ritual practices such as yubitsume or amputation of the left little finger. Members of the Yakuza are viewed as chivalrous, and this features in their code of conduct - and are usually males which don formal attire in the form of suits, designer glasses and headwear as well as specific slicked back haircuts. Women were viewed as the beauty of the organisation, and often took up the role of public image and representation.

On May 9th 1945, Tetsugaku Yamauchi was born in Kyoto, Japan.

During his childhood, Tetsugaku was remarked to be a skilled marksman, adorning this through progression in the Organisation. Even at a young age, Tetsugaku caught on to what the ideologies of the Yakuza Organisation were, and endorsed them to the point where they had become part of his personality. At age 14, Tetsugaku committed his first murder: of a 15 year old male whom had threatened to cause harm upon his family. While possessing the skills of a good marksman, nothing prepared him for committing murder in cold blood. He kept it secret from the other members of the Syndicate, and only confided in his priest to which he was met with disbelief as his story was unbelievable and seen to be too brutal to comprehend. Tetsugaku drove into a state of mild insanity, resorting to prostitution and narcotics. In his later years, Tetsugaku was gifted the role of So-honbucho for his contributions to the Yakuza.

On the 5th October 1974, Kyoumi Kamiyama was born - being the first and only child of Tetsugaku. Kyoumi was the polar opposite to her father, and focused on trivial activities despite her father's pleas to contribute to the Organisation. While she did not refuse, she did not contribute much which implied lack of interest. Kyoumi soon found love in the likes of Fábio Ferreira Melo, an undergraduate studying medicine in Tokyo. Behind her father's back, Kyoumi bore three children: Fujikawa Kamiyama, Tai Kamiyama and Kojima Kamiyama.

Chapter II. The Revelation

Just weeks after the birth of Kyoumi's first child, Fujikawa Kamiyama, her father (Tetsugaku) became increasingly suspicious of her activity. Kyoumi was rarely present at family or organisation events, and rarely showed an interest in any of her previous trivial activities. Tetsugaku commissioned two of his Shaitei to investigate Kyoumi by keeping an eye on her and in return they would be promoted and paid well. ufhkn7e.pngUpon their discovery that Kyoumi had a child, they had conflicting feelings but stuck with their gut instinct and informed Tetsugaku about the situation. Shortly after, Fábio was found dead with the word: 貪欲 (( greed )) engraved in his flesh. Kyoumi was not oblivious to this, however, and confronted her father. He simply ignored her argument, and declared that she was no daughter of his and sent her away.

Kyoumi was forced out of Japan by the constant threat of retaliation from her father's absurd behaviour and took the next plane to Las Venturas to begin a new life.

Chapter III. Welcome to Las Venturas

aLly0Vf.pngAfter abandoning their previous lives in Japan, Kyoumi decided the safest place to start a new life was in Las Venturas: given the fact that drug cartels ruled San Fierro and violent gang crime was ever so prevalent in Los Santos. By winter, however, the Kamiyama family ran out of funds and the wintery nights and lack of proper nutrition drove the family below adequate living. They feared requesting help, as the Yakuza had associates everywhere and in fear of having their location exposed, they could not request for government benefits.

However, Kyoumi soon found work at a local casino - the 4 Dragons Casino. The pay was just enough to keep the family above the poverty line, and it seemed as if the "dark ages" of the family were finally over. They were right as things progressed further in the right direction, as they welcomed a new member to the family: an adopted Japanese male by the name of Tori Kamiyama. While Tori's biological parents are a mystery to him, he is able to remember the last time he saw them. The family was essentially complete, and their new life as legal civilians had progressed and gone better than any of them could've hoped.

Chapter IV. Life in Las Venturas

Several months passed, and Kyoumi's job had led her in a stable career path. For Fujikawa and Tori, life was the same for any Japanese migrating to a city of mafia terrorism, prostitution and a notoriety for gambling. The family managed to cope in such harsh conditions and welcomed three more members to the Kamiyama family in the following years: Tai, Kojima and Rika Kamiyama. By 2012, Fujikawa and Tori were both 16 years old and at this point, began to question their pasts. Given their difficult upbringing before coming to Las Venturas, it was difficult for either to recall much more than raised voices and a blur of images. However, it all changed with the ring of the doorbell.

On a mild June afternoon, all seemed normal. All was normal. However, the usual became the unpredictable when the clock struck for the 17th time. The doorbell rang, and a man dressed in a tar-black suit stood in the face of the light. He wasn't a large man, but his presence created a sense of enormity from the heavy tone in which he spoke to the strong composure in which he held himself. Kyoumi had advised both of them not to let anyone in, but they were unable to stop him carelessly forcing his way into the property. He swiftly examined the house, making notes, before switching his attention to Fujikawa and gesturing for him to sit. He introduced himself as 'Club'.

Chapter V. Induction into the Yakuza

The man handed Fujikawa a letter detailing the requirements of the Yakuza, and informed him of his past. Club was a man sent by Testugaku to formally welcome Fujikawa to the syndicate. He looks at Tori to meet his questioning gazes, but does not give him the invite. He does not even appear to know who he is. Once he's gone, Tori urges m87OTae.pngFujikawa not to join the syndicate given the possible dangers and reminds him that Kyoumi referred to them as "people of that type", implying they're not good company.

While he considered Tori's advice, Fujikawa ignored it in the following days. However, he assured Tori that he would be safe and for all of their safety, he shouldn't inform Kyoumi of his whereabouts and involvement in the syndicate. Tori doesn't formally agree, but does not inform Kyoumi nonetheless. For the sake of their mother, who was resorting to alcohol and drugs to cope with the stress of a large family and upholding the promise her father made to her, Tori was balancing the pressure of protecting his brother while also trying not to overwhelm his mother.

A few months later in 2013, Kyoumi's father, Tetsugaku, suffered a suspected heart attack and was bed-ridden in hospital. Despite her troubled mental state, Kyoumi made the journey with her children to Japan to meet Tetsugaku in hospital. When they come in the room, Tetsugaku is drawn to Fujikawa and spoke directly to him: "ドラゴンを探す" (seek the dragon). He stared puzzled at Tetsugaku, who had now collapsed back in his bed. Kyoumi dragged them out of the room, clearly distressed at what her father had said. Tetsugaku later died in hospital. However, while no autopsy had been released, no mention of any cardiac malfunction had been noted prior to his hospital arrival.

Chapter VI. Family Tree Connections

Away from the Japanese Yakuza, there is another side to the Kamiyama family tree:NzGgCr9.png Tetsugaku's disgraced half-brother Jake Hager. Shunned from the family after his lack of family blood status, he was rarely mentioned within the family. Whenever he was referred to, he was often categorised as an outcast which only heightened curiosity of who he actually was. Tetsugaku was very secretive of who he was, and where he was; but he made it clear that he had no interest in him.

A few years from Tetsugaku's death, Fujikawa moves into his own house in the Whitewood Estates area. His curiosity in Jake Hager increases, and he begins to research who he is, only to find out that he has disappeared recently.

Chapter VII. Appointment & Misappropriation

After leading the Yakuza to victory many times against rival syndicates in San Andreas, Fujikawa is elected as Oyabun. However, the lack of knowledge about Jake Hager troubles him greatly. After hearing that the Liberational Movement of San Andreas was destroyed in a final push in the Flint County region, the death of his unknown relative seems written in stone. The US Government made claims about LMSA's access to weapons of mass destruction, which fuels Fujikawa's ambition for power.

Within a few months, Fujikawa plans and instructs the secret construction of a biological weapon plant off the coast of Japan. During the operation, he creates a biological weapon with capabilities to alter the DNA of its victims, while also targeting specific people with specific characteristics. To him, it seemed like the greatest tool ever as he could now eradicate his greatest enemy: the Cartel, whom he had grown a large dislike to following his mother's reliance on drugs produced by the Flint County cartel.

The weapon is tested on a group of prisoners from the Venturas Crime Syndicate, whom all suffer fatal injuries rendering their bodies unrecognisable and they inevitably disintegrate in their cells. The main issue of logistics was still prominent, however, as it was typically not part of the Yakuza's code to cause unnecessary harm. On the other hand, this seemed like a necessity if used properly.

Chapter VIII. Catch Me Not

A few months after the success of the plant's production facilities, the island's inhabitants noted that several foreign vessels had been scouting the island and as the weeks went by, the presence became more notable until one day, the facility was attacked by NATO forces. Escaping before they could arrest him, Fujikawa disguises himself and leaves the island through an undetectable aircraft back to San Andreas.

Within days, the news of OPERATION: Folium is broadcast internationally, showing feeds of footage of the island's destruction by missiles launched by the military forces. The work and the risk he took, for the sake of continuing his relative's legacy, is gone within a matter of minutes.

Chapter IX. Finale

After arriving back in Las Venturas, Fujikawa is informed that his brother, Tori Kamiyama, has betrayed the Yakuza and fled the city. This causes him a great deal of distress, leading to physical and mental illness which ultimately confined him to a bed. In his last few days, Fujikawa holds the last meeting of the Yakuza: promoting Yasuke and Hirose to Wakagashira, Kruz to So-honbucho and James to Oyabun.

On 14th April 2022, Fujikawa was reported deceased by the Yakuza; passing away in his sleep from his troubles.

The final few chapters  have been added. Admittedly, I probably should've posted them progressively rather than in a lump update but I simply forgot to. As the character has now died, it makes sense to conclude it now rather than over a time period.
