A HOUSE OF CARDS?

Liam Reeds - BT Editor | A HOUSE OF CARDS?

Since the Woods have been ousted and the the new governor took office, politics in San Andreas has not failed to keep us glued to our seats waiting for the next headline on another scandal. First week into office and the governor filed an impeachment hearing for the current Chief of Police Stock Smith which the chief was able to bulldoze with a unanimous decision from the US Congress in his favour. However, following recent events, it seems the governor's case is similar to Chicken Little with his allegations about the SAPD sounding truer by the day.

The opposition has been given their fair share of ammunition to target the current government. Starting with the arrest and resignation of former Vice Governor Dana Flores to the arrest of the former Secretary of Treasury James Kavanagh and now the current Attorney General Octavius Finney. However, even after taking these substantial hits, the governor has some how managed to keep his reign going and kept the Woods on their toes.

Clark Woods, a former judge in the United States District Court issued an arrest warrant for the current Attorney General Octavius Finney for illegal parking and a theft charge with former SAPD Sergeant Sam Woods executing the warrant. Both members of the current opposition. Following the arrest of the attorney general, the SAPD Chief demoted Sam Woods to State Trooper for "getting access to top secret documents" and executing a warrant without knowledge of the SAPD Command Staff. If Sam Woods was not suppose to have access to the warrant, it is beyond me to comprehend how he accessed the warrant and executed it. Is the justice system being used as a political playground? The SAPD Chief and the United States Chief Justice will have to answer for this. Is this a political conspiracy by the opposition and is Clark Woods no longer a judge because he leaked the warrant to Sam Woods? We are yet to learn an answer for these questions. If this indeed turns out to be a conspiracy, how powerful are the Woods and how have they managed to play the entire justice system into their hands, only time will tell.

If this wasn't enough, the current attorney general has filed a civil suit against the San News Network, a subsidiary of Woods Inc. It seems like an all out war between the state government and the opposition with a political battle on one side and a corporate trademark infringement battle on the other. It baffles me as to how the Woods have managed to topple themselves over so badly, it seems both sides are more alike than they seem to believe and built on a house of cards.
