Rule Clarifications

In this topic, situations that happen to be common in the server, but are not necessairly in the rules will be listed and clarified as of their nature and how they consist of a breach of rules. This is to avoid situations where staff members are confronted by players with "it is not listed in the rules", as we can not predict every single new exploit that players find and perform in the server in order to make a gain out of it.

SITUATION: Players who want to die on purpose to keep items from their inventory and avoid being seized or robbed.

HOW IS IT A BREACH OF RULES? It is obviously not natural for a player to wish to die in course of a roleplay scenario. Hence, it is also not natural to request to a friend of yours to kill you so you can keep your inventory intact upon respawn. The sole goal of this is to avoid being seized by the police or robbed by someone else. Hence, it is a breach of rules as per the listed rules below.

In case of rule 1.10, it is specifically a way to avoid a possible scripted consequence [being seized/robbed].

Players who insist with this practice will be warned and if this happens in a situation where the player has directly profitted an item [i.e. smuggle, meth], the profitted item will be removed from the inventory.

09. COMMON SENSE

Any action that causes obstruction of gameplay to other players, or causes unfair environment, gives you unfair gain of goods, makes you get something you're not supposed to have, gives you advantages over other players that cannot be in any way obtained in the server, makes other players feel uncomfortable, or is deemed inappropriate by an administrator is forbidden.

10. ABUSE OR MISUSE OF SCRIPTS

Scripts (features) are made to be used in a certain way. For example, furniture exists so that players can decorate their homes in a reasonable, realistic fashion. Then, there are players who use furniture to just place walls around, other items along to block rival players from being able to breach the property and so that they could shoot the rival players easier. This is a misuse of the script. Therefore, any wrongful use of a feature to gain an advantage over others is prohibited.

Following several incidents in recent history, these clarifications are being made:

1. Engaging in the defence of a turf whilst it is not active.

This refers specifically to when 1 group is already at their own turf, prepared to defend it, and a second group arrives. In the instance that a turf is not active (the attacking group has not started to capture it), shoot on sight is prohibited.

However, if the attacking group comes at the turf in an aggressive or provocative manner (such as regrouping inside/near the turf), the defending group may initiate RP with the attacking group and encourage them to leave. This is by no means a method of allowing a shoot on sight.

2. Two groups going to capture an undefended/uncontested turf.

This refers to a rare edge case of two groups simultaneously going to attack a turf that is either unowned or owned by a group that is not an ally of either attacker. In the case that it is very obvious that either group is currently unable to initiate capture (due to lack of members on site), then an attempt to encourage them to leave via RP must first happen. In the case that both groups are making an obvious attempt to capture the turf first, then shoot on sight is allowed.

In all circumstances, shooting on sight may only be applicable to those that are involved in the turfing. This means you aren't allowed to shoot some trucker who's entering the turf to do his job. Rather, only those that are there to be involved in a turf.
